Yassou (Hello in Greek)
Hellenism is a religion based on ancient Greek Mythology yet still relevant in our modern world.
In our faith, there are 12 major Olympian gods, along with demigods, primordial deities, titans, giants, mortals, heroes & spirits of nature e.g. nymphs & satyrs.
Ours is primarily a devotional or votive religion, based on the exchange of gifts (offerings) for the gods' blessings.
We are a group of men & women who meet up to study, discuss topics, dance, make offerings, celebrate in festivals (feasts) & participate in sacred rituals & rites (religious acts of devotion) to honour our gods Aphrodite & Adonis.
We transcend our human form to reach the divine goddess Aphrodite through worship, offerings & veiled spells.
We never sacrifice animals in our rituals.
Aphrodite is the mythological Greek goddess of love, beauty, marriage, fertility & sexual pleasure.
Aphrodite was born on the island of Cyprus in the Mediterranean Sea.
She was married to Hephaestus & had many lovers including Ares & Poseidon.
Aphrodite had powers to cause others to fall in love & become highly fertile.
Aphrodite was born on 18 March.
Adonis is the god of youth, beauty, desire, fertility, vegetation & re-birth.
Although Adonis was not born a god (he was mortal), he was later re-born as a god. Adonis is the handsome partner of Aphrodite. He enjoyed hunting.
They had 2 children together. Beroe
(a daughter) & a son named Golgos.
Adonis was born on 25 December.

A peplos will also be accepted.
Footwear can be gold, black, red or white sandals, boots or comfortable shoes. No high heels.
Gold accessories can be worn if desired e.g. rings, armbands, earrings, bracelet, headpiece, belt, waist chain or body chain (under chiton), anklet etc.
No bras, socks, stockings, etc as these items weren't worn in ancient times.
Gods:
Shower or bathe & apply deodorant. Don't use after-shave cologne. Colognes block out your masculine pheromones.

Adonis rules beauty - so please take pride in body cleanliness.

Sandals (or footwear) should be comfortable in black, brown, red, blue or white.
Hellenic potions:
Our mystics make tonics & lotions (for men & women to use) using ancient occult methods which promote feelings of love, passion & happiness between couples. Potions are created to attract new relationships or enhance existing ones.
Magical potions are powerful & are used daily in low doses.

Yes, of course.
As long as you are willing to wear Grecian-style clothing & attend sacred rites & rituals, you can worship any of the Greek gods/goddesses/deities you like.
Apollo, Ares, Artemis, Athena, Demeter, Dionysus, Hades, Hephaestus, Hera, Hermes, Hestia, Persephone, Poseidon, Zeus and many other Greek deities.
No. Hellenism is specifically devoted to worship of the ancient Greek deities (supernatural gods & beings).
Our religion is different because we worship Aphrodite & Adonis as our 2 main gods.
Hellenism was the main religion in Greece after the death of Alexander the Great.
The hellenistic period lasted from 323 BC until 31 BC.
Yes, that's correct.
Pagan simply means pre-Christian, so can include any religion that was around prior to the introduction of Christianity.
A well-known pagan religion is Old Norse. The 3 main gods being Odin, Thor & Frey.
Chris Hemsworth plays Thor in 4 movies. (Thor is the god of thunder, sky & agriculture).
You will need to fill in an application form and return to us via email.
You will also need to complete 4 religious classes before being able to become a member.
You will need to wear the ancient costume when attending events or religious rituals.
This is our form of cosplay (dressing up as a character). Cosplay gives us the opportunity to become a god or goddess & act in the same way that the ancient deities did. We bring the old mythological days back to life.
Members rise up through the hierarchy system (from levels 1 to 4). Level 4 is when you reach full god or goddess status. You reach higher levels by attending hellenic classes & joining in mythological rituals & holy rites. You become qualified as you become proficient enough to teach our newer members.
On average, it takes 12 months to reach Level 4.
Offerings: Giving gifts to a goddess is a way of worshipping her & to gain favours in return. Members place gifts on an altar bench (or engage in acts of worship) which gives Aphrodite validation. She uses her superpowers to grant our desires or to send us true love etc. We teach you how to do this in our classes.
Aphrodite was forced to marry Hephaestus but they didn't have any children together.
Aphrodite had 18 children to 7 different fathers.
11 sons - Phobos & Deimos (twins) Eros, Pothos, Anteros, Himeros, Hermaphroditos, Eryx, Priapus, Aeneas & Golgos.
7 daughters - Harmonia, Rhodos, Peitho, Beroe & The 3 Graces (Aglaea, Euphrosyne & Thalia).
If you both follow our doctrines of love, tolerance & honesty towards each other then we are fully supportive. Aphrodite encourages the formation of caring relationships.
